April 17th Speaker

Oasis Fellowship would like to announce that the speaker for the April 17^th meeting will be Gary McCoy, Pastor for the Blacksburg Christian Church in Blacksburg, VA.  Gary is a lifelong Blacksburg resident and a graduate of Blacksburg High School.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, WV and a Master of Arts degree in Education from Virginia Tech.  Gary served the children of Blacksburg as an educator for more than 30 years.  He was the principal of Harding Avenue Elementary School for 19 years and the principal of Blacksburg Middle School for 13 years before retiring from the MCPS system in 2004.  In 2005, Gary became a licensed minister of the Region of Virginia and served the Craig Healing Springs Christian Church before accepting the call to serve Blacksburg Christian Church in August 2007.  Over the years, Gary served the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Virginia as committee member, chairperson, and Moderator as well as director of Triple I camp at Craig Springs for 13 years.  Gary and his wife, Jane, have 2 children and 5 grandchildren.  Come on out and enjoy the fellowship, worship, and message that will be based on our 2012-13 theme, “Salt and Light.”
