Oasis Fellowship would like to announce that the speaker for
the April 17th meeting will be Gary McCoy, Pastor for the Blacksburg Christian Church in Blacksburg, VA. Gary is a lifelong Blacksburg resident and a graduate of Blacksburg High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from
Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi, WV and a Master of Arts degree in
Education from Virginia Tech. Gary
served the children of Blacksburg as an educator for more than 30 years. He was the principal of Harding Avenue
Elementary School for 19 years and the principal of Blacksburg Middle School
for 13 years before retiring from the MCPS system in 2004. In 2005, Gary became a licensed minister of
the Region of Virginia and served the Craig Healing Springs Christian Church
before accepting the call to serve Blacksburg Christian Church in August
2007. Over the years, Gary served the
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Virginia as committee member,
chairperson, and Moderator as well as director of Triple I camp at Craig
Springs for 13 years. Gary and his wife,
Jane, have 2 children and 5 grandchildren.

March 20th Speaker
Oasis Fellowship would like to announce that the speaker for
the March 20th meeting will be Jeff Noble, Lead Pastor for the Northstar Church in Blacksburg, VA. Jeff is
originally from Little Rock, Arkansas. He
earned his undergraduate degree at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia,
AR and obtained his seminary training at Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. Before
joining Northstar in 2009, he faithfully served as a campus minister at the
University of Arkansas at Monticello for 8 years before planting Journey Church
and serving as its founding pastor for 6 years.
His hobbies include: basketball,
reading, fantasy football, and coffee.
Jeff and his wife Carolyn have two teenage children who are all active
in the local community. Come on out and

February 20th Speaker
Oasis Fellowship would like to announce that the speaker for
the February 20th meeting will be Dr. Charles Taylor, Professor and
Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Department of Political Science within
the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at Virginia Tech. Dr. Taylor received his Bachelor’s degree
from Carson Newman College and earned both his Master’s and PhD from Yale
University in 1963. He has been a
dedicated member of the Virginia Tech community since 1970, serving in several
capacities and winning numerous awards. Come

January 16th Speaker
Welcome back.... it's been a while, the January 2013 speaker is Pastor Debbie Hutton, a native of Roanoke,
Virginia and has her degree from Averett University in Danville,
Virginia. Upon graduation she taught special education in Henry and
Roanoke Counties. She was named Roanoke County teacher of the Year in
1990. Responding to the call of the Lord upon her life, she left teaching
in the public school system and opened a private tutorial program, called
"One-to-One," operating out of the basement of her church in
Salem until 1997. During that time she worked upstairs in the church as
secretary for her Pastor and worked to complete her licensure for Ministry
through Maranatha College of Pastoral Ministries of the International
Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was ordained in 1998 and became
Associate Pastor / Director of Pastoral Care at Christian Life International in
Salem, VA until 2009. Following the lead
of the Holy Spirit and the passion of her heart, she now serves as Senior
Pastor at Faith Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church in Pearisburg, VA. Pastor Debbie is married to her beloved
husband of 41 years. She has two sons, one who is the Youth Pastor of her
former home church and the other who serves our country in Iraq as a civilian
contractor. She also has two beautiful grandsons whom she loves
and teaches the faithfulness of our Lord from generation to
generation. Come on out and enjoy the

October 17th Speaker
Oasis Fellowship would like to announce that the speaker for
the October 17th meeting will be Dr. Catherine Taylor, Senior Pastor
of Blacksburg Presbyterian Church. Catherine
has been the Pastor at Blacksburg Presbyterian since May 2010 after four years
as an interim/head of staff in Ithaca, NY.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Duke University, and then
worked for many years as a freelance writer and editor before earning her Master
of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry Degrees from Columbia Theological Seminary
in Atlanta, GA in 1992 and 2004 respectively.
Catherine and her husband, Robert Dean, PhD, MD, have two children. Come on out and enjoy the fellowship,
